I just wanted to let you know that I had a wonderful time at the photo session. I can’t wait to see the proofs. You were very patient with the baby and myself. I know that you have captured images that we will treasure for a lifetime. Your laid-back attitude made both of us feel comfortable enough to let our true colors shine. Thank you!

Old Fashion Guessing Game! $1000 Prize!

This project started as a relaxing day of Lego building with the kids. A half a day later and not a Lego left in the house this huge Octahedron was mostly completed (a later trip to the toy department was needed to complete the monstrosity). The question the arose, "how many piece are in this thing?" So we had the bright idea to have a contest for our clients to see who can guess how many pieces it contains. All you have to do is come in and fill out an entry form (one per visit please), with your best guess. Whoever guesses the closest answer will win a $1000 studio credit to be used whenever and however you like. The contest will end August 31, 2007. The winner will be announced (after we count them) in our September Newsletter and on this blog. Here is the specs:

Height 10.5"

Width 8.75"

Layers 27 (solid, with pieces of all shapes & Sizes)

Weight 5.4lbs

Good Luck. See you soon!

Old Blog is Back With a New Twist!

Our blog is back! After a long hiatus, we have decided to bring it back with a twist. We would love to hear your testimonials about our service so, very soon after your session, we will send you a survey. Upon receipt of your great testimonials, we will feature one of your images on this blog for you and your friends and family to see. What's in it for you, you ask? Well, the typical turn around time for editing our portraits is about 2 weeks. If you will help us out with great testimonials, we will move one of your great images to the front of our work flow and post it on this blog along with your testimonial! This will give you a sneak peek at what we are up to. On the other side of the coin, if you see opportunity for us to improve, this is your opportunity to let us know. We truly want to know what you think and want your experience with us to be absolutely the best anywhere. So get them typing fingers ready and book your session today!

Try This View!

This is an idea I got from a friend of mine in Wilmington who does a lot of senior portraits. I always enjoy looking for fresh new angles to shoot from if you have any ideas or examples of pictures that you like please feel free to bring them in. It is always great to have new ideas.

Seniors of a Different Kind

Later this afternoon, we had this wonderful couple in to have their portraits done. They were a blast to work with I can't wait for them to see their images.

Jones Co Jr Miss Contestants in for Headshots

The Race is going to be tight for this year's Jones county Jr. Miss Pageant if the rest of the contestants are any thing like these two, both named Heather by the way. I look forward to meeting and working with all of the contestants this year.

Engagements with Feeling

I love making engagement portraits. I believe that engagement sessions should be more than two people sitting next to each other with a "cheese smile", however these shots are a necessary part of the session so they will have the picture for the paper. I think Engagement Portraits should be about capturing the feelings that a couple have for each other and showing that in the portraits. This photo speaks volumes about this couple and I am sure that every one who sees it will know that this couples is truly into each other.

I love Headshots!

Today I did headshot for a very beautiful lady named Kay. I have made her portrait before and new this would be an easy job. As you can see here, she has a really beautiful look. I really enjoy headshot because they are so personal. They allow you to really look into a persons eye in a way that you would not in real life. Kay is planning on using some of the shots from today for some signs that she is going to have made for her work at United Country Realty.

Family Portraits gearing back up.

This is a change from the usual. Lately, I have been doing mostly senior portraits and welcomed a little change with the Daniels Family who had their portraits done in the studio today. Ms Daniels brought in some examples of what she wanted and we worked together to create some beautiful work. I expect I will be seeing a lot more Families over the next few months as Christmas approaches. If you would like to give a very special gift this season, go ahead and book your session now before the schedule fills up. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Another Successful Beach Day!

This time Havelock Seniors were the stars at the beach with the exception of Vince from Pamlico who accompanied us on a great session at Fort Macon. We started out in the fort until it closed then went out on the beach and got some shot in the sand and surf. We wrapped up the evening with dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. It was a blast and I would like to personally thank our models for some great work and look forward to showing you guys the photos soon.

Class of 1976 Reunion

Wow what a great group of people, we had a blast taking photos at this reunion! These guys were still partying when we left a midnight and I heard that they had to move the party to a new location because they closed down the first one. Congratulations Class of '76 for a successful reunion and we hope to see you at the next one.

Color Color Color!

Bring in those primary and secondary colors, yes, all of them if you have them. Solid colors are best, but I am willing to try anything. Bringing plenty of clothing choices will ensure that we can coordinate your wardrobe with our backgrounds. Brandy did just that and see how good she looks!

Don't Leave Those Hats Home!

Don't forget to bring your favorite hats and jackets to your session. They can add a very nice and often unique touch to your portraits as this cowboy hat did for Lindsey. Even you guys can bring in you r leather jackets and baseball caps.

Twins Again!

Aren't twin great? They provide me with a unique oportunity to capure some very compelling images. These ladies have graced my lens a couple of times in the past but this is the first time I have been able to give them my undivided attention for an entire session. These two are a blast to to work with.

Jones County Jr. Miss Winner in for Prize Portrait

This young lady was the winner of last year's Jones County Jr. Miss Pageant. As part of her prize package, Adrian Henson Photography, Inc. gave her a 16 X 20 Portrait of her with evening gown and medal. I can't wait to see this years contestants.

More Siblings

This Brother/Sister team worked really well together and were great sports considering all of our requests of them to pose here, hold hands there, we even him to let her kiss him on the head and as you can see in the image we were pushing our luck!

A Close Up With Selena

I almost always include head shot with every session even if it is not requested. This style of headshot is done out in front of the studio in natural light. It is a very personal type of portrait that allows the viewer to really connect with the subject. Just look into those eyes, there is real personality there.

This Wedding Went Off With a Hitch!

Well Ok, it wasn't a very good pun, but they did get "Hitched". Ashlynne and Jonathan's wedding was about as good as it gets. There were some beautiful surprises during the ceremony and the planning and coordination was impeccable. The cake was good too! I have been waiting a long time to show off Ashlynne's bridal portrait so in lieu of a wedding pic, here it is.

Cousins Take Turns for Their Session

I love working with two seniors at the same time. It keeps things moving in the studio and give friends or cousins in this case to get some of their portraits together. If you have a best friend or family member who is graduating with you, consider scheduling your session at the same time and have some done with each other. It's also a good way to save on gas if you ride together!

Photos Always Make a Great Gift for Mom!

Sarah & Nick are two siblings that will earn major brownie points with mom when she sees these images. If you are having a hard time trying to figure out what to give that special someone, just remember that portraits are always appreciated and you can be certain that it is a gift that they do not already have one of.

Camp Shoot Wraps Up

Today I shot for the camp then did Megan and Brittany then went back to the camp at sunset to get campfire shots with the campers. What a long day! It was all good though, especially when I get shots like this. I can't wait to show the camp their images.

Brittany Graces My Lens Again

I have photographed Brittany a few times now and I am always impressed with the images we get. She is a natural in front of the lens. I look forward to working with her and her family for many years to come.

Megan Makes a Beautiful High Key Senior Portrait

This is an effect we like to do every now and then. It really showcases the eyes and softens everything else. Megan's eyes makes this effect really sing!

Kayla is Sitting Pretty with Her Senior Portraits!

Kayla was a great subject today and quietly worked with us to make some excellent portraits. This portrait is just great and kind of unique as it is the first flowered sun dress I have seen all summer.

Quincinera Portrait What a great tradition!

We made this portrait for Melviz' Quincinera or sweet 15 party. She is absolutely beautiful and we wish her well as she takes a big step towards becoming a young adult. Congratulations Melviz!

Maternity Shot are so Sweet!

I feel very fortunate when I am able to take part in the special moments in peoples lives. When it is close friends it is even better. Miles and Patti came in today to capture her "Pregnant Glow". I think we did just that. I am amazed every time I get the opportunity to work with expecting mothers.

More Photography for Camp Seagull

Today was really cool, I woke up before sunrise to get early morning shots at the camp. I stayed most of the day then camp back in the evening to photograph the "swimin' show". What a great place, I know why the kids like it so much!
